Norwich’s Best Dog Friendly Cafes

Norwich as a city is a wonderful mix of the traditional and historic, and the bohemian and modern. Its cafe scene doesn’t stray far from that philosophy. There’s something for everyone here, including a cafe with two resident golden retrievers, to vegan grub and expert small batch coffee roasters. Of course, for Bring The Pooch, the priority is always whether we can bring our dogs along. So, without further ado, here’s our favourite dog friendly cafes in Norwich. Happy caffeinating, dog pals!

Carberrys

The only thing greater than a dog friendly cafe in the heart of Norwich’s beautiful Tombland district is a dog friendly cafe that has two resident dogs! Head down to Carberrys, which is just a short walk from the Cathedral, and meet Toby and Ragnar. These handsome golden retrievers will be milling around the cafe whilst you and your dog await your food. And what delicious food it is! Enjoy a range of cafe classics including baguettes and paninis, as well as some fantastic cake and great coffees.

Mitre

An amazing little non-profit cafe, where as much of its money as possible is channeled into the St Thomas Norwich Trust. The Trust helps individuals and groups effected by debt, poverty, crime, addiction and more through a social action and outreach programme, meaning every coffee you drink here goes far beyond just giving you a nice warm beverage. It doesn’t hurt that the coffee is fantastic, and the service we received here was among some of the loveliest in Norwich.

Cherry Leaf Coffee House

A really lovely and welcoming space on St Giles Street. You can grab a stellar breakfast here (the bacon rolls are a favourite among locals), but plenty of cakes and buns for those with a sweet tooth. Its central location makes it ideal for exploring the city of Norwich with your dog. The prices are fantastic here too, meaning you can pop along for a midday cake after your bacon sarnie breakfast… and maybe another cheeky slice at tea time too!

Alchemista

a takeaway coffee from Alchemista

Alchemista is the culmination of a global journey to find the very best coffee in the world. The team behind this amazing cafe visited Asia and Australia, picking up all the top tips of the best baristas that the world has to offer. They brought all of this back to Norwich. They have a whole host of speciality brews, built upon their expertise and learning. Oh, and there are some boozy coffee cocktails too, if you’re that way inclined! Just fantastic coffee, and a great establishment, made all the better by its dog-friendliness. One thing’s for sure – you won’t find a Nescafe here!

Norwich is packed with dog friendly cafes

There are plenty more dog friendly cafes in Norwich, and this ‘best of’ list is just the tip of the iceberg. Take a look around Bring The Pooch to find more great places to grab a tea or coffee with your dog in Norwich, and if you have any suggestions for dog friendly cafes around Norwich, just pop us a comment below.
