Dating back to the late 1700s, The Ropemakers is something of a Bridport institution. Today, it's still beloved by locals and tourists alike. They serve fantastic Palmers Ales. It's something of an optical illusion – what presents itself as a humble and modest building from the outside seems to stretch back all the way to an extensive outdoor courtyard in the back.
