Bring The Pooch's verdict

A wine bar and bistro in central York serving up what it calls 'petit plats' or small plates, all focused on utilising locally grown and sourced produce. They proudly get vegetables from local farms, source their dairy foods from the esteemed local farm The Courtyard Dairy, and source charcuterie from the very best farms in Britain and France. All in all, it's safe to say that the food screams quality here.

Yet there's even more work going into the wine menu. They focus on working with small growers and producers of wines who use minimal intervention in the natural wine development processes. Really love the ethos of Cave du Cochon, and it's a pleasure to visit with your dog.

An exceedingly fancy little spot in York which serves delightful small plates of food. For fans of flavour and great wine, this is a must visit spot if you’re in the city. The fact that it’s dog friendly is a huge plus. We have been here several times and they are always lovely to me and my little Yorkie (hey, I’m a York lady, so they’re the only dog for me!). Service is always fantastic and I must reiterate that the food is maybe the best in the city.
