There’s plenty to see and do in the historic town of Lewes. Whilst it is perhaps most famed for its fireworks and its castle (neither of which are dog friendly activities), it packs plenty of things you can bring the pooch to. Lewes has plenty of fantastic pubs, most of them serving ale from the local brewery, Harvey’s. In addition, there are lots of great cafes and restaurants that also allow dogs in.
You’ll most definitely want to explore the South Downs from this vantage point. There are fantastic walks north, south, east and west of Lewes, so any way you wander you’re bound to enjoy the day.
