Bring The Pooch's verdict

A sizeable pub with fantastic outside seating. Situated on the busy Dyke Road leading in and out of Brighton. A meaty-packed menu (so your dog will probably be giving you extra levels of attention whilst you dine there...). Expect steaks, freshly caught local fish, honey roast ham, cajun chicken and more. Lots of pub classics, all done very, very well. Loaded fries are also a hit, stacked high with a variety of ingredients from Mexican chili to chicken, bacon and BBQ sauce. Deeeelish.

Great range of drinks on offer here too. The bar is situated in the centre of the pub, meaning there are effectively four sides to it. That way you get served super quick, and can get back to your table and enjoy your time there.

Big and spacious pub with plenty of nooks and crannies to ease yourself into. I can’t speak for the food but I often stop here for a pint after a wander about Dyke Road park with my lab. Staff are welcoming and friendly and love dogs. Nice beer garden and tables outside at the front when the weather is warm too.
