York has everything going for it. It has ancient roots, being founded by the Romans in 71 AD, before being captured by the Vikings a few centuries later, and then seeing a rich and chequered history during Tudor times.
Fortunately, it’s also a great hotspot of contemporary culture. There are many amazing pubs, bars and restaurants serving up quality unique food throughout the city. It’s a truly beautiful place to visit, explore the ruins of the castle, and then enjoy a bite to eat at one of the many dog friendly spots around.
